Salvation in 10 Points

aymon de albatrus

You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” (Joh 15:16)

Here are 10 Biblical steps depicting the order of salvation which is of God, not of man.

  1. Before time began and before anything was created God elected some humans to eternal salvation from Hell, not for anything found in the creature but (and only) because so it pleased Him:
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,” (Eph 1:3-5)

  2. By nature NO human does seek God for their hearts are hard and inclined to evil continually:
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God.” (Rom 3:10-11)
“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Gen 6:5)

  3. God sovereignly intervenes (at the right time) in the hearts (the essence of man) of His elect by replacing their hearts of stone with hearts of flesh that will seek Him with the new spirit:
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my judgments, and do them.” (Eze 36:26-27)

  4. With this new spirit and new heart (Born Again) the elect are enabled to seek and receive salvation in Christ, God having granted them Repentance to life, which is His gift, and not self generated:
“Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (Joh 3:3)
“When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then has God also to the Gentiles granted repentance to life.” (Act 11:18)

  5. Humans can only believe in God only if it is granted to them by God, having been ordained (elected) to eternal life before the world ever was:
“And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.” (Act 13:48)
No man can come to me, except the Father which has sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (Joh 6:44)

  6. Anyone that is not Born Again is a natural man and cannot receive the things of God, nor he can know them for these are spiritually discerned and to his carnal mind they are foolishness. This is why an unregenerate man cannot choose Christ, God has sovereignly to firstly intervene in him with a new heart and a new spirit:
“But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1Co 2:14)

  7. People do not save themselves by their own volition but are saved by the sovereign will of God:
“Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (Joh 1:13)

  8. With the spirit of God in him the elect can have the certitude that he has been saved for now being spiritual he believes in the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ:
“These things have I written to you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.” (1Jo 5:13)

  9. There is a further certainty in that God is not willing that any of His elect (us) be lost for Jesus prays for them:
I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which you have given me; for they are yours.” (Joh 17:9)
“The Lord of the promise is not slow, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not having purposed any of us to perish, but all of us to come to repentance.” (2Pe 3:9)
( ‘us’ are the people mentioned in 2Pe 1:1)

  10. And so, after having received a new heart and a new spirit the elect comes to the full knowledge of his salvation from Hell (in Christ Jesus) and glorifies God for His grace, as an unmerited gift, realising that it was  all of God.  AMEN
“For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” (Eph 2:8)

PRAISE GOD TO THE HIGHEST FOR HIS MARVELLOUS GIFT OF SALVATION TO HIS ELECT.
