The only one God

aymon de albatrus

“You shall have no other gods before me.” (Exo 20:3)

“For you shall not bow to another god, for Jehovah whose name is Jealous, He is a jealous God;” (Exo 34:14)

“See now, I myself am He; there is no other God but Me: giver of death and life, wounding and making well: and no one has power to make you free from my hand.” (Deu 32:39)

“Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.” (Joh 14:6)

“and there is salvation in no other One, for neither is there any other name under Heaven having been given among men by which we must be saved.” (Act 4:12)

Because God is the Lord, the Almighty Jehovah, THE self-existent, independent, eternal, and the fountain of all being and power; therefore He has an incontestable right to command us. He is God Almighty and there exists NO other Gods beside him, no other are to be worshipped beside Him; God will have no rivals and competitors. God has existed forever and will exist forever in full control of His creation.

It is obvious that mankind was created with a need of God as we clearly see all around us and in history. Man must have a God for himself and throughout the aeons of time man has worshipped thousands of self made gods of every type. Even those who claim to have no god do have a god to worship, may be money women, power etc. but it is god for them.

t is obvious that mankind was created with a need of God as we clearly see all around us and in history. Man must have a God for himself and throughout the eons of time man has worshipped thousands of self made gods of every type. Even those who claim to have no god do have a god to worship, may be money women, power etc. but it is god for them.

But which is the TRUE God?

But which is the TRUE God?

Everyone claims that theirs is the true God, even with vengeance, as some mid-eastern religion demonstrates so violently.  Well there is only one Holy Book that claims the uniqueness of its God, rejecting ALL others as false God; The Bible. But nowadays it is common the hear that famous Roman saying “all roads lead to Rome” being applied also to religion, “all religions lead to God”.  Well the Bible most emphatically denies that (Act 4:12; John 14:6). No other Book exclusively testifies that.

The Bible says specifically that beside Jehovah there is no other God: “That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.” (Isa 45:6; 45:21)  There is but one God, and Christ the Word, with the Father and the Spirit, are that one God, (1Jo 5:7); and there is no other with Him. He is the true God, in opposition to all factitious and fictitious gods. He is not a man made god, He is the one, true, only and living omnipotent God.

And the Only and one way one can go to the only God is through Christ Jesus, His Son. Christ is the only way of access unto the Father; there is no coming to God as the absolute God, not upon a covenant of works, but through the only Mediator between God and man and that is Christ who gives them acceptance to the Father by His expiatory works on the cross on their behalf. For there is only one Mediator between God and men: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” (1Ti 2:5)

Clearly this lucid statement specifically excludes any Madonna, any saint, any church, any religion that claim salvation through them; according to the Bible they are all false.

Well, then, all the billion that do not believe in Christ are they lost??  Only God knows, but according to the Bible there is only One God and One Mediator, the Lord Jesus Christ, and who has no Faith in Christ is lost: "He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God stays on him." (Joh 3:36), and that is what we must proclaim and preach. Amen

and there is salvation in no other One for there is no other name; thing or person, be it ever so great, or whatever show of power and strength, of holiness and religion. Nor the name of kings, princes, even the great men in the world; or ministers and preachers in the church; or churches, or even of Christians and believers; NONE but the name of Jesus Christ, His person, His Holy blood, and His righteousness. NO one will suffice, but the Son of God. (Rev 5:9)

Christ is the only Saviour and Redeemer, who was promised and prophesied of as such; who has saved and redeemed His people from the law, sin, and Satan.  Nor is salvation to be sought and hoped for from any other God; nor in any creature, angels or men; not in and by his own works, and legal righteousness; not by obedience to the law of Moses, moral or ceremonial; nor much less by an observance of the traditions of the elders or churches.

Salvation is the greatest gift that God can bestow on His people. In the New Testament this applies particularly to the work which the Messiah came to do: “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luk 19:10). This work refers primarily to a deliverance of the soul from sin, (Mat 1:21; Act 5:31; Luk 4:18; Rom 8:21; Gal 5:1). This effectively means true freedom from all the ills to which sin exposes man, and the attainment of that perfect peace and joy which shall be bestowed on the children of God in the heavens; as the Lord states: “If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.” (Joh 8:36)

for neither is there any other name under Heaven: throughout the whole earth, in all the nations and kingdoms; nor even in heaven itself, among all the mighty angels there, thrones,  dominions, principalities, and powers; none but the Father and the Spirit, who are one with Christ: there is none else but He, the Christ. Amen

There is no one who can save but Jesus Christ. That there is no other Saviour, or Mediator between God and man, is abundantly taught in the New Testament; and it is indeed the main design of revelation to prove this. (1Ti 2:5,6 Act 10:43)

having been given among men Christ has been freely given by the Father, as an instance of his matchless love to His people; and also freely given by Himself to be a sacrifice for the sins of His people as the only Saviour of them; for there is none other.

Not other name given implies that salvation has its origin in God; that He has provided the Saviour for men; for salvation cannot be originated by any power among men. The Lord Jesus is thus uniformly represented as given or appointed by God for this great purpose, (Joh 3:16; 17:4; 1Co 3:5; Gal 1:4; 2:20; Eph 1:22; 5:25; 1Ti 2:6; Rom 5:15-18; 6:23) and hence Christ is called the "unspeakable gift" of God, (2Co 9:15). Praise God in the highest.

by which we must be saved God resolved in His purposes and decrees, in His council and covenant, upon the salvation of His chosen people; and He appointed his Son to be the salvation of them, and determined He would save them by Him, for salvation is by no other but by Him. (Eph 1:3-14)

In our age of religious pluralism, this radical claim is rejected out rightly, even by some Christians. Others will admit the uniqueness of Christ in the objective accomplishment of salvation, but they say this text does not teach that it is essential to hear the good news about Jesus' saving work and that the other religions also lead to God.  Well such interpretation of the accomplishment and application of salvation runs counter to the explicit thrust of this verse. Peter makes his universal claim by explicitly asserting that ONLY the name of Christ  has been given to humankind as a means by which we must be saved (Luk 24:46; Act 11:14). To be true to Peter and Luke and the Word of God, we must never water down the fact that apart from Jesus there is no salvation for anyone.

All those that are saved must come through Christ alone. Only Jesus Christ paid the penalty of our sin, He nailed all of them on the cross of death, therefore salvation can only come through Jesus Christ as Scripture proclaims: “Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.” (Joh 14:6)

This one statement sets Christianity and the Bible apart from all other religions. Either the Bible is right and there is no other way to salvation, or the Bible is wrong and all other religions are right. If all roads lead to God then the Bible is a false book and does not have any reliability. Nevertheless, anyone claiming to be a Christian and says that other religions are equally valid is contradicting the Bible, declaring that Jesus is a liar, and thus he is undermining his own faith. But Scripture says: “God forbid: yes, let God be true, but every man a liar; ……...” (Rom 3:4)

There is no other way of salvation but by Christ Jesus, and if saved, it must be in this way, and by this plan. All other schemes by men’s own devices are not adapted to the purpose and are complete failure, and therefore cannot save.

The doctrine that men can be saved only by Jesus Christ is abundantly taught in Scripture; and it emphatically excludes all other propositions.
