Fear

The Fear of God   (101 KB)
Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Wisdom and knowledge of the word of God will soon provide the only stability of the days that are now at hand. The Word of God, and your KNOWING Him, and OBEYING Him, will soon be your only source of strength of salvation. Yeshua is the Hebrew word for salvation. The only treasure that is worth seeking now is the fear of the LORD. The fear of the LORD is His treasure. Have you found His treasure, the fear of the LORD? Did you know the fear of the LORD is His treasure? (Isa 33:6)

A Treatise of the Fear of God   (620 KB)
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, "and "a fountain of life"óthe foundation on which all wisdom rests, as well as the source from whence it emanates. Upon a principle so vastly important, all the subtle malignity of Satan has been directed, if possible to mislead the very elect; while the ungodly and impenitent fall under his devices. To the mind enlightened by Divine truth, the difference between a filial fear of offending God and the dread of punishment is very plain. Still, by the devilís sophistry, some of the most pious Christians have been puzzled and bewildered. Bunyan was not ignorant of Satanís devices, and he has roused the energies of his powerful mind, guided by Divine truth, to render this important doctrine so clear and easy to be understood, that the believer may not err.

This rare volume, was first published in 1679

Of the Fear of God    (96 KB)
The fear of God has so great a concern in divine worship, that it is sometimes put for the whole of it; and a worshipper of God is frequently described in scripture by one that fears him; and particularly internal worship, or experimental religion, as distinguished from an external observance of the divine commands, is expressed by it; for, according to the wise man, the whole of religion, experimental and practical religion, lies in these two things, to "fear God and keep his commandments" (Ecclesiastes 12:13), and as worship itself is expressed by the fear of God, so the manner in which it is to be performed is directed to be in it and with it, for God is to be served "with reverence and godly fear"; (see Psa 2:11; 5:7; 89:7; Heb 12:28), concerning which may be observed,

The Fear of God and Freedom from Goods    (46 KB)
And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And fear came upon every soul; and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common; and they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they partook of food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. (Acts 2:42-47)

Puritan Fear of God    (37 KB)
"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him, which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell" (Matthew 10:28).These words were not spoken by Jonathan Edwards. They were not spoken by Cotton Mather. They were not spoken by Calvin, or Augustine, or by Paul. But these words were spoken by Jesus.

Do You Fear God?   (53 KB)
One essential thing that is missing in the churches AND in our personal life, today, is the fear of God. This is the main reason why people are abandoning the Faith in droves, to their damnation.
