Email FeedbackAbout democracy I was reading your essay about how we let the world go to hell and then complained about god not helping anyone. Lets look back to before america. Look at all of the wars that were fought in God's name for hundreds of years. In a time were almost every person in Europe believed that Christ was their savior, there was more corruption among every day people than there is now. School shootings are the fault of democracy? Well where was god during the Hundred Years war in France where hundreds and thousands of French and English soldiers killed each other senselessly. They were all god fearing men, so why didn't god stop his own followers from killing each other? Where was god during the Holocaust? Where was God during the Spanish Inquisition? Where was god during the Crusades? Did God really tell the europeans to kill Arabs in his name? Because I could have sworn that killing in the name of God was called Religious Fundamentalism. Here is my question, how can we trust a religion that, for hundreds of years, was corrupted by the people who believed so ardently in it? Preachers use the bible to preach against homosexuality, yet they used to use the same book to preach against blacks, and in some places, they still do. Why should I trust YOUR interpretation of the bible over anyone else's? Especially since YOUR interpretation wasn't even the first accepted one. I have not accepted Christ as my savior, but I don't have piercings or tattoos, I do not know the feeling of hatred, because I have never hated anyone, I don't fight, I don't think about promiscuous sex, I don't use drugs, so what makes me a bad person? Realizing that God hasn't been there for anyone but the people making money off of him? If that's a sin, then I'm going to hell for not being ignorant. Dear friend,
All you say can be found true, sure. But it is all man made. I was glad to see that you did not directly blame God for that.
I do like to point out that many more wars were fought NOT in God's name.
The Bible says this about man: And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5)
for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23)
Now you say that you have done no sin and no wrong, well the God of the Bible says this: God forbid: yea, let God be found true, but every man a liar; (Romans 3:4)
Whom shall I believe, you or God?? Methinks to stick with God.
I have a dear Australian friend that thinks exactly like you do on this matter, I have asked him to differentiate what men do from who God is. Well he does not believe in God as you do not either, I guess.
Obviously all this Christian stuff annoys you, thus my humble advise to you is this: "Do Not Bother " with it, find something more akin to your mental set, relax and be happy.
Grace and Peace to you
