Abortion, a Short Answer

   aymon de albatrus

Dear Phill,

Thanking you for your kind words, but be careful not to give me a big head lest I shall not be able to pass the door, anymore, and float like a balloon.

I shall express a few remarks on abortion, as you asked of me.

Basically the arguments that I know in favour of abortion are two:

1. It is not a human being, but just unwanted material (meat), and

2. It is my body and I can do of it what I want.

Both statement are incorrect for even with a speck of brain the size of an amino acid, one has to admit that if this piece of unwanted meat were left where it is and do nothing about it, it will eventually come out as a baby, whilst if one leaves a piece of real meat, from the butcher, on the table, a couple days later there would be but a large collection of wiggling maggots. So the first focal argument is promptly dismisses by this irrefutable evidence, even though many doctors, for lucrative reasons, are ambiguous on this and will not give you a clear answer on the matter, of course.

Regarding if the "unwanted meat" is actually a human being, God says this:

My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret; when I was woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my embryo; and in Your book all my members were written the days they were formed, and not one was among them. (Psalms 139:15-16 LIT)

Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and He that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; (Isaiah 44:24 AV)

Again, there is no doubt that God formed and saw this embryo as a real person, though not yet born. Incidentally, the embryo’s heart starts beating after 14 days from conception. Can a piece of unwanted meat do that? And this destroys point one, above.

For political reasons feminists, leftists, new-agers, greenies and the like will say it is "unwanted meat" and it is the right of the woman to dispose of it as she pleases for it is her property.

Is it? Really?

What saith Scriptures:

For who makes you to differ? And what do you have that you did not receive? And if you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive? (1 Corinthians 4:7 LIT)

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. (1 Timothy 6:7 AV)

Clearly, God here says that we are nothing of our own, but ALL has been given to us (body, soul and spirit), so the proposition that the "unwanted meat" is the propriety of the woman is falsehood, for not even her body belongs to her, but ALL is of God. And that destroys totally point Numbers 2 above.

Now that we have briefly, but clearly, demonstrated that the "foundations" of justifying abortion are untruths, and that abortion is killing a human being, what Scripture says about killing human beings: You shall not murder. (Exodus 20:13 LIT)

Abortion is not the unforgivable sin, but no Christian, under ANY circumstance is to practice it, and those who have committed this heinous sin, must repent and seek the Lord’s gracious forgiveness.

What other proof is needed, for a true believers submitted in fear to God this will suffice, whilst for a rebellious argumentative soul, no amount of evidence will be enough.

Thus, I guess this is enough for Megan, if not, then let me know.

Incidentally, here is hypocrisy: if an unborn baby is aborted at, say 5/6 months, it is nothing, but if a baby is killed after being born at 5/6 months, then prosecution is applied.
