Kingdom of God vs. Homosexuality

Or do you not know that unjust ones will not inherit [the] kingdom of God? Do not be deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (male prostitutes), nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous ones, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor plunderers shall inherit [the] kingdom of God.” (1Co 6:9-10)
The broad meaning of Homosexuality is:
Sexual attraction to (or sexual relations with) persons of the same sex
Sexual activity with another, of the same sex.
The term can include: lesbianism, pederasty, sapphism,
The word homosexual (sodomite) is the English translation of arsenokoites
In the NT reference to men that lie together like with a woman is found in 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 1 Timothy 1:10 using the plain Greek word arsenokoites, which is a compound word composed of arsen meaning man in the sense of male adult, and koites meaning bed. The word koites comes to us through Latin in the form of coitus, which immediately conveys the proper flavour of the Greek word. Thus arsenokoites literally means man-bedder, with the meaning of men having sex with each other. It is an expression for this type of sexual intercourse. Interesting to note what may be just a coincidence, the word “arse” which is the same as the English one, and “koites” similar to “coitus”.
The Bible is clearly against the practice of homosexuality for God made them male and female, not male and male or female and female. The OT condemns homosexuality in no uncertain terms and prescribes the death penalty for this sin. The Law says: "You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination" “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be on them.” (Lev 18:22; 20:13)
The OT also condemns "sodomites," which were male temple prostitutes (1 Kings 14:24; 15:12; 22:46; 2 Kings 23:7). Homosexuals argue that these male prostitutes were for the female worshippers and thus excusing their own private homosexual activities, in other words these verses condemn fornication and adultery at the temple but not their own personal homosexuality. But the male prostitutes were for the purpose of homosexual acts with other men. Truly, human beings are great rationalizers. For those that cavil the point in saying: “But that was the OT, not applicable to us”, they should ponder deeply on the words of Jesus’, Himself: “For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.” (Mat 5:18)
In the NT the issue is just as clear as long as one stick honestly to the principle espoused and does not escape from reason. In Romans 1 Paul demonstrates how the Gentiles have failed to live up to the revelation of God given them. He lists the many evils they did while suppressing the knowledge of God revealed to them (Romans 1:18-21). Such evils included idolatry, fornication, maliciousness, disobedience to parents, hate for God, inventions of evil things, and homosexuality. Then Paul plainly declares: “26 Because of this, God gave them up to dishonourable passions, for even their females changed the natural use to that contrary to nature. 27 And likewise, the males also forsaking the natural use of the female burned in their lust toward one another, males with males working out shamefulness, and receiving back within themselves the reward which was fitting for their error.” (Rom 1:26-27) The word homosexuality is not specifically mentioned here, but the act is clearly described with no other interpretation possible. Do note that not only sex between men is forbidden, but clearly also sex between women, i.e. lesbian activities. Eventually receiving in their bodies what was due to them, e.g. venereal diseases, and today we have that terrible disease of aids.
The Biblical evidence is conclusive that homosexual relations are ungodly, but the case against homosexuality is not limited to the Biblical witness. There are also sound reasons to object homosexuality as an acceptable behaviour. Homosexuality is unnatural. All people have "in holes" and "out holes" in their body. Some holes are designed to take things into them, and some holes are designed to clear things from the body. We should not confuse the obvious purpose of these holes. Definitely, nature argues against homosexuality as an "alternative" lifestyle.
As a child of God, enlightened by the Holy Spirit, what this alternative lifestyle tell you?
Interesting to note that the Homosexuals and the Leftists have hijacked for themselves the sign of the rainbow as a symbol of peace. But there will be no peace for their activities are an abomination to God and like Sodom and Gomorrah the wrath of God is around the corner. Indeed we rather doubt that they really know what the Rainbow stands for. The Rainbow was given to Noah and his progeny as a seal that God will not flood the earth till that sign is visible in the sky: “13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. 14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: 15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.” (Gen 9:13-15) It is not a sign guarantying peace on earth but that the earth will not be flooded again and when everyone will be saying “peace, peace” there will be no peace but: “2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes on them, as travail on a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” (1Th 5:2-3)
Homosexuals say that the Bible does not condemn homosexuality and they use various verses (out of context) to show that the verses proving homosexuality wrong are explained away. The world wants to change God's words and meanings into something more suitable to its sinful desires. Nevertheless, the truth stands: Homosexuality is clearly condemned by the Bible. It goes against the created order of God. He created Adam and then made a woman. This is what God has ordained and it is what He declares right and correct. Unlike other sins, homosexuality has a severe judgment administered by God Himself. This judgment is simple: they are given over to their passions. That means that their hearts are allowed to be hardened by their sins: “Why God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:” (Rom 1:24) The result of God withdrawing His presence amongst them, is that they can no longer see the error of what they are doing. Without an awareness of their sinfulness, there will be no repentance and trusting in Jesus. Without Jesus, they will have no forgiveness. Without forgiveness, there is no salvation. The sin of homosexuality is a severe sin, for God to abandon them to their evil passions.
According to the Apostle Paul it is clear that on the ladder of human depravity, homosexuality is the bottom rung. By the time a person reaches the state of hard core, defiant, unrepentant, homosexual lifestyle, God has washed His hands of that person. Throughout the Old Testament, when the nation of Israel was in its worst spiritual condition, in full blown apostasy, the Bible makes a point of telling us that sodomy was one of the chief traits of society (see 1 Kings 14:24). Under the Law, the penalty for homosexuality was death. Further, sodomy is the only sin, which caused God to rain fire and brimstone from heaven on an entire 5-city population. So, we have a Bible basis for recognizing that homosexuality is a particularly heinous sin in the eyes of the God of Eternity.
In the past when God turned his back on a people, then sodomites would rule the land. Today the West is on the apex of that condition, and only by an abundance of mercy will God forebear the utter destruction of our countries. Similar conditions existed in Sodom, which was utterly destroyed by God with no local survivors, even though Abraham tried all he could to save it. Jesus warned us that it would be like it was in the days of Lot (Sodom) just before He returns. It does not take much insight by looking around that we are indeed in those days right now, and this abomination of desolation should be preached against, not condoned or even approved, indeed affirmed. It was the sin of homosexuality that condemned Sodom and it will condemn our society also if we do not repent and turn back to God’s ways, but I fear we have gone well past the point of no return.
In creating humankind God established the order of sexuality by which the race was to develop. Psychologically, the relationship is sound. Physically, the relationship is natural. Sociologically, it establishes the foundation for the family. The biblical order for human sexual expression is that of an intimate physical relationship to be shared exclusively within a lifelong marriage covenant, a heterosexual and monogamous relationship.
When people choose to engage in homosexual behaviour, they depart from the God-given nature of sexuality. Their unnatural sexual behaviour is a sin against God, who established the order of sexuality (Romans 1:27). And the social unit they seek to establish is contrary to the divine instruction for the man to leave father and mother and be united to his wife (Genesis 2:24).
In Jesus’ discussion with the Pharisees, He reiterated the order of sexuality that God established in the beginning: “4 And he answered and said to them, Have you not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall join to his wife: and they two shall be one flesh?” (Mat 19:4-5) Then He pointed out that the only alternative to heterosexual marriage is celibacy for the kingdom of heaven’s sake (Mat 19:10-12). NOT homosexuality.
Here a few more displays where this sin leads to, as a result of God giving them up:
To reiterate, the Bible clearly and consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). God does not create a person with homosexual desires. A person becomes a homosexual because of sin (Romans 1:24-27), and ultimately because of his or her own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger / rage, does that make it right for them to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality.
Now there is a great push all over the Western culture to approve of gay marriage, and many countries have succumbed to that under a leftist government but for Christians to give sanction to homosexual marriage would be to give approval to that lifestyle, which the Bible clearly and consistently condemns as sinful. We should stand firmly against the idea of same sex marriage. Marriage is ordained by God to be between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:21-24; Matthew 19:4-6). Homosexual marriage is a perversion of the institution of marriage and an offence to the God who created marriage. God forbids and condemns homosexuality, so He clearly is opposed to homosexual marriage. As Christians, we are to seek to share the love of God and salvation through Christ with homosexuals without compromising the teaching of His Word in condoning or even approving their sinful lifestyle.
Indeed time is very close to midnight and the bowls of God’s wrath are about to overflow Rev 6:2-17 and about to be poured out on all unrighteousness on the earth. We can tell that the time is nigh when we note that the church has been infiltrated and defiled by this corrupting sin. Not only the church has been penetrated but also high prelates are openly approving of homosexuality, or are tacitly favourable or pretending it is not there. We see recently the appointment to the office of Bishop a man that was married has 2 daughters and insisted for his “boyfriend” to be publicly presented at his coronation. But worse, a woman elevated also to the position of Bishop (another abomination) publicly stating that she does not see anything wrong with homosexuality, and approves of it.
What can the remnants do?
Well this tsunami tide cannot be stopped, for this democratic world is fully impregnated by it and the majority of churches are following closely, but we must be faithful to our calling and continually proclaim: “exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints.” Remembering that this is the “Garden” of God and He is in full control and He has not left Himself without witnesses: “But what said the answer of God to him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.” (Rom 11:4)
Homosexuality is a forgivable sin; it needs to be dealt with in the only way possible. It needs to be laid at the cross, repented of, and never done again. As Christians, we should witness and pray for the salvation of the homosexuals for they are still made in the image of God, even though they are in grave sin. Of course this does not mean that we are to approve or even show a blind eye on this heinous sin. We must NOT compromise our witness for a socially acceptable opinion that is void of godliness.
Does God approve of homosexuality? Absolutely not. Can a person truly be a Christian and at the same time a practicing homosexual? No! (1Co 6:9) Will a practicing unrepented homosexual enter the Kingdom of God? NO! “nor effeminate (male prostitutes), nor homosexuals, … shall inherit [the] kingdom of God” Therefore the so-called “Christian Homosexual” is another misnomer by people that want to live their sin and be approved in it. The two words are diametrically opposed and cannot stay together.
To enter into the kingdom of God, one must repent of his sins, give his life to Christ and endeavour to follow His commandments in faith with the help of the Holy Ghost. If one is a homosexual, then one is in open rebellion against God. Homosexual acts are an "abomination" in the eyes of the Lord. His wrath is kindled against this sinful activity and who practices it! You must repent of your rebellion and be willing to live your life in conformity to God's Word. Cain was very upset because God did not accept his offering, but the Lord told him: “6 ¶ And the LORD said to Cain, Why are you wroth? and why is your countenance fallen? 7 If you do well, shall you not be accepted? and if you do not well, sin lies at the door. And to you shall be his desire, and you shall rule over him.” (Gen 4:6-7)
Praise God for there is hope of salvation for this sin as Paul witnesses: “And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (1Co 6:11)
But how can God forgive a sin He calls an "abomination," and how can an individual break free from such a sin? It only by the Grace of God: “4 ¶ But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, has quickened us together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;) 6 And has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Eph 2:4-10)
Therefore, pray that God may grant you a new heart and with that you will be able to seek and find Him so that you may be saved from the terrible wrath of God: “26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my judgments, and do them.” (Eze 36:26-27)
