Attributes to be found in a Good Wife

“Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favour of the LORD.” (Pro 18:22)

These requirements are ALL strictly Biblical, remembering that the woman was made for the need of man and not the other way round: "And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him." (Gen 2:18) "Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man." (1Co 11:9)

THE DESIRED qualities in a Wife:

1. That she be of God, 1Co 10:31

2. That the wife be dedicated to God, completely, Mat 22:37

3. That she be obedient and submitted to me as Sarah was to Abraham, in all things, 1Pe 3:6; Eph 5:22; Tit 2:5

4. That she be NOT of modern mentality, but ABSOLUTELY Biblical minded, Eph 5:26; Rom 12:2

5. That she adapts to me and to my Doctrine, Rom 16:25

6. That she has no funny ideas in her head, but she be sober, minding the higher things of the Kingdom of God, 1Ti 3:11; Col 3:2

7. That she will do good to me for all her life, Pro 31:12

8. That she be of a beautiful soul, Eph 3:16

9. That she be a good cook, Tit 2:5

10. That she be given to look after the home and children, Tit 2:5

11. That she be dedicated to hospitality, succour the needy and wash the saints' feet, 1Ti 5:10

12. That she be not contentious, but with a mild and humble character, not given to arguing, Pro 27:15; 25:24

13. That she be not prolix, but of few words, Mat 5:37

14. That she loves not the things of this world, 1Jo 2:15

15. That she be thrifty, not a lover of money, Pro 19:14

16. That she dresses modestly, with long skirts, never with pants, little make up and little adorning, with long hair; 1Ti 2:9,10; Deu 22:5; 1Co 11:15

17. That she has a good sense of humour, Pro 15:15

18. That she be of help in my ministry, Gen 2:18

19. That she be willing to move in other nations, Mar 16:15

20. That she be willing to learn another language, 

21. That she has my children in sympathy, Tit 2:4

22. That she be not fat, nor skinny, 1Co 6:19

23. Physical height suitable to mine,

24. Of age around mine,

25. Surely this request is not short of a miracle, but then the Lord majors in miracles. Phi 4:19 4; Eph 3:20
