What Does the Bible Say About Piercing the Body?   (50 KB)
Many of the young people in our society here in the USA (and the world) are embracing a dangerous "little fox"or seemingly "little thing"that may seem harmless. The young people are saying that it is a "trendy"thing to do. Many of them are showing off multiple ear, nose, tongue, eyebrow and navel jewels and rings attached to their pierced flesh. Some even have this done on unspeakable parts of their bodies. These are abnormal and unnatural.

Is it sinful to adorn our bodies by piercing and tattooing?   (31 KB)
Yes, piercing, cutting, or marking the body for the purpose of changing it or to go beyond modesty in getting attention is sinful. God wants only good for us. He gave us His Law so that we could live well and prosper in His ways. Transgressing His Law only brings harm to us.

What the Bible says about - "TATTOOS"   (38 KB)
TATTOOS? SHOULD A CHRISTIAN RECEIVE ONE? It seems like every year the world is led into another fad of some sort. In the 50ís it was saddle shoes, bobby socks and greased back hair. In the 60ís, it was Beetle Mania and all the disgrace and debauchery that came along with it. The 70ís brought in the Acid Rock culture with the drugs, wild hard driving music, Tie-dyed Tee-shirts, beads and wild hair styles. The 80ís was the decade when Disco, and the New Age Movement made it big. And now we are in the end of the 90ís. This decade seems like it is marked with the philosophy that anything goes. Many feel, if they like it, no one should question or ridicule them. In the 1990ís we have seen a real resurgence of the tattoo industry.

Does the Bible say anything about tattoos and body piercing?     ©
My son asked me if he could get a tattoo and a body piercing. I am very concerned about this issue. I told him "NO" but he is persistent. I told him it was against the teaching of the Bible. Somewhere in the Bible I read that it was wrong. Can you help me find the passage?

What does the Bible have to say about body piercing and tattoos?  ©
The current popularity of the tattoo makes it a valid issue demanding a Christian, Biblical response. When dealing with controversial issues, many demand chapter and verse in the Bible that deals namely and specifically with that issue. Those who do so fail to realize the nature of the Bible. The Bible is a book of principles that apply to any age, any culture, any person, any matter of life and living.

Are Tattoos and Body Piercings Unchristian?  ©
This isn't an article claiming that it is absolutely unbiblical to ever cut the skin. Obviously, there are many good examples of such acceptable practices, such as operations, amputations, even plastic surgery in many cases. Tattoos and body piercings are really not the main issue here. I'm sure that there will be many Christians in heaven who have gotten tattoos or had earrings. The issues here are arrogance, love of neighbour, separation from the world, and our earnest desire to do the will of God. Rather than an article saying we can't cut our flesh, this is an article stressing the very same precepts that God was stressing when he told Israel not to sow its field with two different seeds. And when He commanded that they could not plough with an ox and jackass together. And when He declared that they could not wear a garment made of two different threads like wool and linen (Deuteronomy 22:9-11). These laws to prevent different kinds from mingling together were a "sign" designed to prevent the Israelites from following the worldly practices and mixing with the heathens around them. They were tokens designed to keep them as a Holy and separate people. The same reason that we are not to pierce our bodies and tattoo ourselves as the world does. Christians are a sanctified and holy people.

Tattoo or Not?  A Brief Answer    (32 KB)
I just have a question about tattoos. I read your section on it and I know that this all true. I am going back and forth trying to figure out what I should do. I have been in prayer about it, but my question is:
